An Ottoman Architectural Drawing of al-Masjid al-Aqsa (al-Haram al-Sharif), 20th Century, -
A rectangular architectural drawing rendered in fine black ink on light-toned paper, depicting the full enclosure of al-Masjid al-Aqsa, also known as al-Haram al-Sharif. The composition shows a dense grid of arch-shaped motifs forming the perimeter walls, with multiple domed structures positioned along the upper section, including two rounded domes and a slender minaret.
At the centre sits a square sanctuary form containing additional geometric and architectural details, including a framed central motif and tall, slender elements arranged symmetrically around it. The borders are enclosed within a double-line frame, with corner structures extending outward in stylised tower forms. The artwork is composed entirely of linear, architectural-style detailing, giving a schematic, diagram-like appearance.
