A gold, turquoise and mother of pearl etui, 19th century, of tapering octagonal section, set with engraved panels of mother of pearl bordered with rope twist columns, the lid topped with a section of purpurin glass, bordered around the hinge with foliate motifs and turquoise cabochons, opening to reveal a red velvet lining and fittings including a pair of scissors, a snuff spoon, a propelling pencil with thimble cap and spool, a mother of pearl-mounted penknife and a bodkin needle case, mounted in gold with steel/gilt components, etui measuring 9 x 4.2 x 4.2cm, no assay marks, total gross weight approximately 164 grams, base deficient, top a later replacement
