Scarce 1796 pattern cavalry trooper's sword marked for the 2nd Troop of the Royal Life Guards and the 12th Light Dragoons, regulation curved single edge blade 81cms cut with a single broad fuller stamped with crowned 4 government inspector's mark, back edge signed DAWES, regulation iron stirrup hilt deeply carved 12 LD K 11 above the quillon, and T2 RL G 29 beneath guard, iron grip strap, wooden grip (leather covering now mostly missing), in its iron scabbard stamped at the top OSBORN & GU(NBY) BIR(Mm) and deeply stamped with 12 LD D 29 (the last 2 erased) Good condition, some age wear overall.
