4 Georgian circa 1800 freeblown scent bottles / lachrymatorys / tear catchers / tear vials , three with gilded decoration, all of squared cross sectional form, one with a stopper, all with gilt decoration, the longest 8 1/4'' long Lachtymatorys were used to gather & hold the tears wept by mourners at funerals. Some had a special top allowing the tears to evaporate, others were sealed for a year, and afterwards poured on the grave of the person whom the tears were wept for.
