A late 19c petrological microscope signed Swift & Son, Tottenham Court Rd, London WC, the stage having circles graduated in degrees and vermier in five minute intervals. It has a black cast base and lacquered brass tube and has a full set of objectives and eyepieces as well as a Davidson 'Davon' microscope, extension tubes and a 90° deflector. All contained in a mahogany box 36cm tall. Together with a box of prepared mineral slides.

General condition good. Because of the extra accessories some of the box fitments have been removed. Carrying box has a split in the door and some war to the finish of the timber. Lacquer work on microscope and fittings generally good and accessories seem undamaged.
