Linda King (British, b.1958), A Pair of Mixed-Media Collages, 'Louis Blows Up a Storm' and 'Bathnight for Venus!' (Signed)

A pair of framed mixed-media collages on paper by Linda King. The first work, titled 'Louis Blows Up a Storm', features a black and white photographic cutout of musician Louis Armstrong with a surrealist-style vortex of diverse cut-out images—including insects, food items, a cat, and the Eiffel Tower—emanating from his trumpet. The piece is set in a black frame with a silver-coloured inner edge. The second collage, titled 'Bathnight for Venus!', depicts the central figure from Botticelli's The Birth of Venus standing within a silver-toned clawfoot bathtub. The figure is flanked by various houseplants, including a monstera and a snake plant, and the composition includes a shark fin and a yellow 'Shark Sighted Today' warning sign. This work is housed in a brown wood-effect frame with a gold-coloured inner lip and a cream-coloured mount. Both pieces are signed with the initials 'LK' and dated '26' in the lower right. The reverse of the first frame bears a white adhesive label inscribed 'LOUIS BLOWS UP A STORM. 2026 Feb. Linda King.' The reverse of the second frame features a similar label inscribed ''BATHNIGHT FOR VENUS!' 8.3.26 Linda King.'
