£65
A hallmarked silver oval-shaped box with hinged lid having a vacant cartouche and decorated in high relief repousse style with C-scrolls, flower heads etc., marks rubbed, probably Chester 1901 (16cm, approx. 109g)
Condition Report: Overall the box appears in good order, it is noted that the hallmarks are very rubbed at one end, some small scratches to the underside commensurate with age. The hinge is in good order with no problems, there is a gilded interior and the lip of the lid inside is slightly raised to one end - although the lid does shut firmly and tightly.
