KGVI COLOURED "AAL" HAND-DRAWN COVER DEPICTING SLEEPING CAT AND EARLY BIRD CATCHING WORM; 25 June 1940 long env. (minor wear) from London to "Catterick Camp" with Centenary 2½d (small fault) tied by London "POST EARLY/IN/THE DAY" duplex; the calligraphic address set between a robin rolling a lawn and catching a worm, and a cat asleep on a deck-chair! With artist's initials and date - "AAL, 1940" at lower right; KGVI-period hand-drawn pictorial covers are rare, especially from the WWII period like this example.
