A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN DRAGON AND PHOENIX CUP, DAOGUANG MARK. -

The exterior is expertly decorated in a vibrant tone of underglaze blue with a five-clawed dragon and a soaring phoenix, traditional symbols of the Emperor and Empress, depicted amongst ruyi-shaped clouds and flames in pursuit of a flaming pearl. The interior is left plain white, highlighting the purity of the porcelain body. The foot ring is decorated with a band of cobalt dots between double-line borders. The base features a six-character reign mark in underglaze blue seal script reading Da Qing Daoguang Nian Zhi.
