A RARE SECTION OF A CELTIC BRACELET. Rare section of a Celtic bracelet or ankle ornament, probably La Tène culture (Latènien), c,450 BC-1st century BC. The section formed of two hollow domed cup or egg shapes with linking lug and mount each side. 62.7 mm x 21.6 mm. Weight 6.88g. See Fig 1: The Latenian oval ring ornaments from the sanctuary of Poseidon at Isthmia (after Krämer 1961); On Early Celtic Grave Finds from Hohenrain and Zug, Otto-Herman Frey, fig: 4, p: 122. Provenance: River Thames, PAS Registered, ID: LON-064A57 (listed as probably Medieval however the suggested references indicate a much earlier date of the Celtic).
