An early 20th century mah jong set with ivory and bamboo tiles, ivory counters and die all contained within a mahogany carry case with brass corners, handles and escutcheons, 15 by 23 by 13.5cm, together with a group of contemporaneous Malay figures, tallest 4 by 11.5 by 12.5cm, an alabaster model of a minarretted fort, 10 by 10 by 8cm high, a spinning wheel from the game of Intrique and Marriage, 24.5 by 6cm and a set of four later mah jong stands and instruction book.
