1963 Vauxhall Victor FB Super, 1508 cc. Registration number 67 ERX. Chassis number FBD3205343. Engine number 196663.
Vauxhall's Victor was developed through five iterations from 1957 to 1978. While the F Series unashamedly echoed GM's American styling of the period, the ensuing FB Series of 1961 had much cleaner, more European lines. With it came corrosion protection, a higher compression engine delivering 49.5bhp, and the option of a four-speed all-synchromesh gearbox with floor change. The FB reigned until 1964, by which time 328,640 examples had been produced.
ERX was registered by Wheelers of Newbury on the 9th August 1963 and kept by them until 1969 when it was sold to Michael Nagle of Reading and then three months later to Alexander McElhiney of Reading. Mr McElhiney kept it until 2000 when he part exchanged it for an automatic Renault 9 with Universal Garages of Whitby. By now the mileage was 87,833. They kept it for some three years until they moved premises and could no longer store it; it had a bit part in a Heatbeat episode when they filmed at Universals premises. It was last on the road in 2006.
Now in need of restoration, it is sold with the R.F. 60, the V5C, the V5, various MOT's and a run of tax discs from 1974 until 1990 and 2001/2004.
