Owned by Charles Louis de Chalain, Captain of the Dragoons under Louis XIV, and Chevalier in the Order of Saint Louis. With pierced steel hilt and knuckle guard, the blade engraved Vive le Roi on one side and dragoons and French royal motifs on the other; the blade now broken. Despite the condition, the sword retains strong historic presence through its early royal inscription and courtly form.
