CANADA COMPANY EMIGRATION CIRCULAR SENT WITH 181 2d BLUE BUT RETURNED "Not Called for" EX BATH; 22 Sept. 1845 printed E (seemingly the final page of a longer circular) with printed "April 1845" date inside unusually addressed to "M.H.P., Post Office, Bath" with an 1841 2d Blue (4 close to wide margins) tied by a London diamond numeral (with Lombard Street ds on flap). But after a month it was returned to the senders endorsed "Not Called for" in red. The contents are a circular headed with the large coat of arms of the "CANADA COMPANY" concerning "CANADA WEST. TO EMIGRANTS AND OTHERS" offering subsidised rents for land by the 100 acres with an option to buy in due course. Rare and attractive. [Ex Spink 12/12/2013; lot 605, realised £375+5%+BP.] [Illustrated in BPPP, p.348.] Cross Reference: 1841 2d BLUES, RETURNED MAIL, SOMERSET, CANADA
