A Georgian mahogany knife box converted to a stationery box. Inlaid to the top with a shell and to the inside of the lid with a star, compartments to the inside, with gilt metal clasp and handles. H29cm x W22.5cm x D21cm.
Appears in a fair condition for its age, structurally sound, light surface marks conducive with use, metalwork is tarnished, lock functions but clasp doesn't quite line up to secure properly. Some loss to the back edges and corners.
