Frances Currer, having inherited the library of her great grandfather, the botanist and antiquary Richard Richardson, continued to build up the collection and in so doing came to be recognised as England's first female bibliophile of note and was dubbed by Dibdin, the "head of all femaile book collectors in Europe". 18th Century bookplate on front pastedown of Mathew Wilson (1730-1802), of Eshton Hall, Yorkshire.
