Smith of London: A late 18th/early 19th Century flintlock duelling pistol, the 9¾" octagonal Damascus steel barrel with twin gilt-metal bands and poinçon on the breech stamped SMITH LONDON, with silvered bead fore-sight and barrel mounts, the walnut stock with chequered grip, the lockplate with slide safety and signed SMITH, the steel furniture variously engraved with foliage, globe and shield, the trigger guard with spurred wheatsheaf finial, with brass-tipped wooden ramrod. 38.5cm long overall
