More Information

Condition - general wear including discolouration, minor losses. Provenance - although the exact provenance is unknown, this collection appears to have once been part of Frank King's grandson John Eyre's estate. Frank's daughter Margaret Naylor King (Eyre) married Harold Eyre, during WWII Harold was killed while serving as Lieutenant with Royal Naval Volunteer Reserves aboard HMS Victorious, Margaret committed suicide a few days later, their son John was brought up by Frank and Annie King. The collection appears to have been in storage for many decades, many of the boxes were inscribed 'J Eyre'.
