1880 4d Handpainted De la Rue essay for an anticipated second telegraphs issue, the stamp size essay superbly painted (complete with perforations) in black and Chinese white on thick card, 28x24mm. Telegraph stamps were abolished in 1881 and this proposed second issue was therefore abandoned. A magnificent and unique essay. Photo on Page 24.
