Paul KIRNIG (1891-1955) Austria [c.1935] Lithographic travel poster, pinholes to all corners, fraying particularly to fore-edge, crease to top left corner, marginal 1cm tear to top edge, 95.5cm x 63cm. Provenance James William Davies (26 April 1919 – 5 January 1994) Born in Bethnal Green, London, he was a self-taught graphic designer with a passion for collecting World War II–era posters. Several of his own poster designs are held in the collections of the National War Museum and the Post Office Museum in London.
