WW1 British Steel Combat Helmet with Private Purchase Officers Liner System, good example of a British 2nd model brodie helmet shell with the rim cover removed (clear markings where once present). The shell retains much of the original paint. The interior of the helmet has a officers private purchase liner system fitted, retailed by Scott & Co, London. The helmet is also complete with brown leather chinstrap. The liner system and chinstrap we believe to be of WW2 vintage. It was quite common for officers in WW2, who had previously served in WW1 to either retain or be issued with WW1 helmet shells and then have the officers liner added. Overall a very nice example.
