A MARBLE MUGHAL STYLE HUQQA BASE, INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
The form features a globular body with a rounded base and a slender, tapering neck. The neck is accented with a central knop and terminates in a flared rim. Decorative elements include a wide band of deeply carved foliate or lotus-leaf motifs encircling the shoulder. The upper portion of the neck is decorated with an incised zigzag or chevron pattern.
