Wendy Ward (1937-2003), Mixed media, Four pop art depictions of Cilla Black to the closed wings of the triptych, opening to reveal Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, Bears Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2001 labels. Ascribed verso. 34 1/4 '' high x 30 1/2'' high Artist Wendy Ward ,born Northampton 1937: In this triptych she was exploring the updating of religious iconography. So the disciples were all punks and Cilla was a saint. Trying to find replacements in today's culture. The picture was accepted for the RA Summer Exhibition but it never went for reasons that are unclear. As well as being an artist Wendy enjoyed running her Antique Shop in Brackley, Northants. Died 2003
