A Collection of Vintage Hand-Painted Wooden Character Egg Cups including Tonna and Fairylite Examples
A collection of vintage hand-painted wooden egg cups and figurines. The group features a variety of characters, including a larger Pinocchio figure with a red conical hat and a protruding nose, which bears a gold foil label to the base reading MADE IN ITALY TONNA OMEGNA. Another figure, depicting a bearded elfin character, is stamped FAIRYLITE FOREIGN to the underside and includes a small circular sticker with the handwritten number 148. The remainder of the collection comprises several figures in traditional European folk-style dress, including characters in waistcoats, top hats, and aprons with polychrome painted details. The pieces are constructed from turned wood, with some bases showing central indentations from the turning process.
