ENGLISH SPLIT SIZE ENGLISH SHAFT & GLOBE WINE BOTTLE. 7ins tall. Absolutely remarkable condition black glass/ dark green half size shaft & globe form c. 1669. Full glass sheen, neck striations. An accompanying hand written letter records this was purchased by Peggy C Whitaker around 1960 from Mr Melton Babcock President of the New England Antique Association, Mass. Ex David Walker Barker collection - tiny DWB hand written base sticker in the middle of the pontilled base kick up. This is an exceptional condition item given its age as well as being a superlative rarity in this small size - incredible!
