WW1 British Staff Colonels Tunic with Steel Combat Helmet Having Original Cloth Trench Cover. fine example of a four pocket staff officers four pocket KD tunic with brass buttons, gorget collar patches, rank pips and crown to the shoulder straps, medal ribbons for the Distinguished Service Order, India General Service and Queens South Africa medals. Staff officers arm brassard to the tunic. The tunic is accompanied by a double strap Sam Browne leather belt set. Also accompanying the tunic and belt is an original British 2nd pattern brodie steel helmet which is fitted with the original khaki cloth trench cover which has red felt band with bullion embroidered colonels cap insignia. The trench cover is the official multi-panel issue example with vents. Helmet is complete with the oilskin liner and the leather chinstrap. The cover shows some wear to the rim area and with some rust bleed through. Due to the fragile nature of original covers on steel helmets, we have not attempted to remove the cover from the helmet shell.
