An Indian Tipu Sultan Style Brass Hilt, 18th–19th Century.

An Indian brass sword hilt cast in the distinctive Tipu Sultan style, featuring a cruciform guard and a finely modelled zoomorphic handle. The grip is formed as a stylised tiger with engraved linear striping and foliate detailing, terminating in a pronounced feline head pommel. The crossguard arms extend horizontally, each ending in animal-head terminals with incised decoration. The knuckle guard curves elegantly from the pommel to the quillon, incorporating further animal-head ornamentation and textured detailing.

Approximately 15cm

Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished British gentleman.
