The rare silver rupee of Noor Jahan, issued by Emperor Shah Jahan, is an interesting piece of Mughal coinage history. Noor Jahan was the wife of Emperor Jahangir, but after his death, she held significant influence over the Mughal court. During the reign of Shah Jahan (who ruled from 1628 to 1658), she was honored through the issuance of some unique coins, especially in the later part of her life.
