An absolutely stunning original antique graphite and pastel work by Victorian female artist Clara Rylauds dating to 1876. This beautiful work features an Orientalist style woman sifting rice through her hands. The details of her features and dress are particularly intricate down to the pearls in her ears and the weave of the fabric. Signed and dated bottom right. Housed in a wooden frame. Features framers sticker R. Jackson & Sons on verso (founded 1866). A really special piece. Mm: 62 x 77 cm in frame.
