A unique photographic archive of an Indian royal family; four family photo albums capturing the family members and residences, including the Lake Pichola, Zenana Mahal and Shiv Niwas palaces, of Maharana Bhagwat Singh of Mewar (Udaipur, India, 1921-1984) and his second wife, Annabella Parker (Tokyo, b.1942), spanning the 1960s-1980s Photographs include: interior and exterior shots of royal residences; eminent guests, official portraits of the Maharana and Maharini; photographs of the extended royal Singh Mewar family; eminent guests to the Mewar court including: the Last Shah (Mohammad Reza Pahlavi) and Last Shahbanu (Empress Farah Pahlavi) of Iran, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru; official engagements including visits to Bhilwara and Chittor; on 'shikar' or hunting in India; holidays abroad; photographs and documents related to Annabella Parker's parents Colonel Gerald and Elizabeth Parker, covering Colonel Parker's work in the WWII War Crimes Investigation Team, Singapore, and as Military Attache to the British Embassy in Japan 1953-56 Provenance: formerly the property of Annabella Parker, second wife of Maharana Bhagwat Singh of Mewar (Udaipur, India, 1921-1984)
