ARABIC MANUSCRIPT ABRIDGED LAWS OF ISLAM MUKHTASAR SHARAI AL-ISLAM AND RISALAT TIBB AL-ABDAN, YA'QUB BIN QASIM BIN ISMA'IL, 1087 AH - 1676–1677 A.D.

This late 18th-century Arabic manuscript comprises two primary works: Mukhtasar Sharai al-Islam (Abridged Laws of Islam), a treatise on Islamic jurisprudence, and Risalat Tibb al-Abdan (Treatise on the Medicine of the Bodies), a work of prophetic medicine. The introductory page and colophon identify the author and scribe as Ya'qub bin Qasim bin Isma'il bin al-Amir Sa'd al-Tahi al-Amini. The text is written in a clear Naskh script in black ink with rubricated headings and key phrases in red. The manuscript contains extensive marginalia, annotations, and glosses in various smaller hands throughout the text. The colophon on the final page dates the completion of the transcription to Tuesday in the month of Dhu al-Qidah, 1087 AH corresponding to approximately 1676–1677 A.D. The volume is bound in a contemporary full dark brown leather binding with blind-tooled geometric designs, including diagonal lines forming a large X on the front cover.
