1. General Terms
1.1. These terms govern all auctions conducted by Trenchards Auctioneers & Valuers.
1.2. By registering and/or bidding at the auction, all bidders agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Registration
2.1. All bidders must register before bidding and provide valid identification.
2.2. The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse registration or bidding rights.
2.3. Bidders are responsible for ensuring their account details are accurate and up to date.

3. Bidding
3.1. Bids may be placed in person on the book , online or via telephone.
3.2. The highest bidder at the fall of the hammer (or auction close) shall be the purchaser.
3.3. The Auctioneer reserves the right to:
• Set and modify reserve prices.
• Reject any bid without explanation.
• Withdraw or re-offer any lot at any time.
• Reopen the bidding after the hammer has dropped ( This may happen due to time delay in internet bidding platforms ) .
3.4. . In the event of a dispute, the Auctioneer’s decision is final .

4. Buyers & Sellers
4.1. A buyer’s premium of 16% will be added to the hammer price of each lot that you have won. If bids are placed online via our own Trenchards website or bids left with us presale there is no extra charge (0%) for this service other than the above buyers premium . If bidding thorugh Easy Live Auction, there is a surcharge of either 3% plus VAT or a one off fixed fee of £3 plus VAT per auction. This also applies to Autobids pld on their website. Other platforms may attract higher fees , please refer to their terms . For timed auctions , winning bidders agree to pay the winning bid plus buyers premium of 16% . Live auctions are not covered by the Sales of Goods Act.
4.2 Won lots are not legally owned by the winning bidder until ALL fees have been paid to the auction house.
4.3. Telephone bids will only be accepted for lots having a lower estimate of £100 for UK bidders & £200 for international bidders. This is subject to our discretion.
4.4. Trenchards Auctions will accept bids solely at their own discretion & are not responsible for any bids that re not executed for any reason.
4.5. All descriptions & statements pertaining to each lot are made to the best of our knowledge these being solely opinions based on information received from the vendor or specialists . We advise potential bidders to view items or make their own research before bidding.
4.6. All items are sold as original to the best of our knowledge unless otherwise stated.
4.7 All items are sold for historical display purposes ONLY & for no reason other than this.
5. Sellers
5.1. The seller agrees to pay the agreed commission rate of 12% through Trenchards Auctioneers & Valuers.
5.2.The seller confirms to us that they have the legal right to sell any item that they consign to us at Trenchards Auctioneers & Valuers.
5.3. Trenchards Auctioneers & Valuers will pay the vendor the net amount received for each item minus the auction house fees 30 working days after the date of the auction.
5.4. We, Trenchards , have the right to withdraw any item from sale at any time & return it to the vendor.
5.5. In the event of the vendor wishing to withdraw any item from the sale post cataloguing they will be liable to pay an administration charge of 12% of the lower estimate of the item or items.
5.6. Any cost involved in returning unsold lots to the vendor by post will be payable by the vendor.
5.7 Trenchards Auctioneers & Valuers reserve the right to cancel the sale of any item & return to the consignor in the event of non payment by the buyer.

6. Payment
6.1. Payment must be made in full within 7 days of receiving your invoice thankyou. Failure to make payment will result in being banned from bidding on Trenchards Auctioneers & Valuers website as well as , potentially, other bidding platforms also.
6.2. Bank transfer is our preferred method of payment .
6.3. Title ( Ownership ) will not pass to the buyer until full payment has been received by Trenchards Auctioneers & Valuers.

7. Collection & Delivery
7.1. You are welcome to collect your items (by appointment only). This must be within seven days of the end of the auction . In the case of non collection of any lots one month after the sale date then we reserve the right to resell the item to recover any administration costs incurred.
7.2. We are very happy , at our discretion, to offer an in house postage & packing service for most items unless otherwise stated. Some items will be collection only such as those which are heavy , large or fragile.
7.3. We will not accept responsibility for items damaged or lost in transit as all items are sent at owners own risk. This is especially the case with glass items.
7.4. When sending internationally we are obliged to declare the full value of the item /items & therefore any customs charges resulting from this must be borne by you. International buyers must check that they can legally bring the item into their country & seek professional advice if required.
7.5. Some items may require proof of age being provided before being removed from the premises by buyer or courier .

8. Refunds/Returns
8.1. If you are unhappy with any item you have purchased for any reason then you must contact us upon its immediate receipt. We guarantee all of our items as original unless otherwise stated & will , solely at our discretion , issue a refund if admissible evidence can be provided to the contrary. This must be a named & accepted expert in the field who can be contacted in person .
8.2. Refunds are solely at the auctioneers discretion however if agreed then the item must be returned to us within 5 days of this agreement & in any case no later than a strict 21 days post sale. After this period all items are considered as sold.
8.3. Any fees associated with the return /refund of any item will not be refunded.

9. Liability
9.1. The Auctioneer accepts no liability for any loss or damage incurred before, during, or after the auction.
9.2. The Auctioneer is not responsible for any interruption or technical issue during online bidding.

10. Default by Buyer
10.1. If the buyer fails to pay or collect within the specified time, the Auctioneer may:
• Resell the lot privately or publicly.
• Charge any shortfall to the original buyer.
