of VAT).
VENDORS COMMISSION – 15% plus VAT deducted from hammer price (Total
18% inclusive of VAT).
UNSOLD CHARGES – 5% plus VAT applied at the auctioneer’s discretion, for instance
in cases where the agreed reserve has not been adhered to by the vendor.
Buyers using the live internet bidding service will be charged an extra 3% premium
(plus VAT).
TREATMENT OF GEMS
It has become common commercial practice to treat diamonds and coloured precious
gems in order to improve their colours. As long as the effects achieved are permanent,
such treatments are considered entirely legitimate. In view of this, unless stated to the
contrary, buyers at this auction should assume such treatments may possibly have been
used.
Successful bidders are usually able to collect their purchases if desired, the following day, Sunday between 11am and 3pm.

Subsequent to this, collection would be by arrangement from one of the auctioneer’s Monday afternoon valuation days in either Chudleigh or Kingsteignton as the items will no longer be located at the auction venue.

Alternatively, the auctioneer offers a shipping service
