A 19th Century 15-bore Percussion Holster Pistol by Ezekiel Baker, later converted from flintlock, 9-inch cylindrical steel barrel with Birmingham Proof marks, captive under-barrel ramrod, two-stage hammer with slide safety, fore-end cap and engraved trigger guard with pineapple terminal, full walnut stock with diaper-field engraved grip, silver cartouche, Condition: light pitting to metalwork and light knocks to woodwork conducive with age, otherwise a nice example of the practice of converting quality pieces from flintlock. Ezekiel Baker (1758-1836) apprenticed to and workman of Henry Nock, was the inventor of the Baker rifle and author of Remarks on Rifle Guns (1801). He was Gunmaker-in-Ordinary to King George IV.
