A good early English George II painted wooden doll, circa 1750, the gesso head with inset blue glass eyes, fine dots for eyelashes and brows, rouged cheeks, painted red mouth, nostrils and cloth cap to brown wig, elongated neck to sloped shoulders to tapered waist, cloth upper arms and well carved painted wooden hands, square hips, jointed at hips and knees, wearing a beautiful emerald green silk dress with pleated sleeves, lace cuffs, decorative stomacher with pink and cream ribbons and metallic thread detail, open skirt to ivory silk quilted skirt, stockings, scarlet silk slippers and white cotton cap, she has 'J32' written on leg, possibly from a museum, 22" (56cm) tall, (good).
