A LARGE FULLY RESTORED NAPOLEONIC PRISONER-OF-WAR BONE SHIP MODEL FOR H.M.S. UNICORN


the 31in. planked and pinned hull with contrasting main and secondary wales, oxidised brass guns in ports, double-equestrian unicorn figurehead and finely carved stern with balcony, planked decks with strakes and fittings including gratings, capstan, water casks, well deck with balustrade and conjoined fitted boats over, bilge pump, covered companionways, guns in stepped bone carriages, deck light, bound masts with yards, s'tun'sl booms, standing and running rigging with bone blocks and tackle, mounted via three bone supports to inlaid marquetry display base with feet -- 36 x 52in. (91.5 x 132cm.)
