An early 18c eight day longcase clock, 30cm arched brass dial signed Robert Sadler, London and having ringed winding hole and female head spandrels. The movement has five ringed pillars and internal countwheel striking and is now contained in a round arched top fruitwood case. The hood has fluted freestanding columns flanking the dial and a long trunk door with arched top. The base is plain with a plain skirting. The case stands 200cm tall overall.

More Information

The dial needs cleaning and re-silvering. The movement is complete but would benefit from cleaning. The trunk door has shrunk and there is a gap down its left hand edge. The base has some cracking due to the figuring in the wood. The movement and dial may not have started its life in this case.
