A group of military and commemorative items and ephemera, comprising a silk handkerchief commemorating Queen Victoria's response to Lord Balfour on the Boer War, printed with the phrase ''There is no depression in this House ... And we are not interested in the Possibility of Defeat ... They do NOT exist', Queen Victoria', (a similar handkerchief is held in the Imperial War Museum), a WWII Trench Art ashtray formed from the base of a shell casing, dated 1939, inset with a Turkish coin, a Coronation Edition of The Illustrated London News for King Edward VII, dated 1902, a Victory Number of the Illustrated London News, dated May 12, 1945, a miniature copy of the Times, Late London Edition, Tuesday May 3, 1966 and the Particulars of Sale for Middleton Hall, Essex, dated 14th August 1827, which is now Brentwood Prep School.
