The paint surface shows no obvious damage, although the inner outline of the stretcher is visible on the canvas in certain lights. Examination under UV shows evidence of minor retouching, some areas corresponding with repairs to the back of the canvas. The canvas does not appear to have been re-lined. The picture appears to have been cleaned in the recent past. The frame appears to be structurally sound, but shows age-related cracking to the moulded details. The top corners appear to have been subject to repair in the past.
