A fine 18th century Swiss / German Commode chest of three long drawers, intricately inlaid with bird, scroll and lattice designs, initialled M B to top and with floral and scroll carved apron, width 118cm, height 88cm, depth 62cm.
With paperwork of original purchase by vendor from the Bonhams Fine Continental Furniture sale, 27/6/06 (lot 233, original purchase price £3200).
Generally good condition for age, with some splits and repairs visible to veneer to top. Split to right side, and moulding slightly loose to right side. Loss to right side of top drawer - please see additional photographs.
