1984 BMW R80ST, 798cc. Registration number B372 WYR. Frame number 6057611. Engine number 6057611.
Sold with the V5C, keys, service books, model history folder.
The BMW R80ST (Straßen-Tourer) was a short-lived (1982–1984), 5,963-unit production run, acting as a street-focused version of the R80G/S dual-sport. It featured a 797cc boxer twin engine (50 hp), 19-inch front wheel, and lowered suspension for better road handling. The R80ST was designed to fill the gap between the R80RT road bike and the R80GS adventure bike offering the best of both worlds but it was not well received in the day, making it a rare collectable machine today.
WYR was sold by BMW Park Lane, London to Mr Hagele on the 31st August 1984. It has five stamps in the service book. In 1994 it was bought by Antony Murphy who sold it to our vendor in 1998 with some 20,474 miles on the odometer. From then until 2011 at 57,997 miles there is a hand written service record, the valves were replaced with new guides. From 2005 the printed MOT history shows a yearly 1000 miles or so of use, up until 2021 at 62,063 miles. Today to odometer shows 62,068.
It has been fitted with Boyer ignition, heated grips and LED lights.
It has been stored for several years due to ill health and will require some recommissioning.
