A COLLECTION OF SOUTH AFRICAN MILITARY BADGES/PINS, includes: (i) A M.O.T.H pin and lapel badge, The M.O.T.H stands for The Memorable Order of Tin Hats which was founded in 1927 by Charles Evenden as a brotherhood of South African former front-line soldiers. (ii) A pair of rare WWII SAAF No. 31 Bomber Squadron badges. The badge has black enamel disc with white enamel crescent moon and two searchlight beans with a raised relief owl in flight and a dice showing 3 and another with 1. The squadron was formed in 1939 and disbanded in 1945, (iii) A gold coloured (no hallmarks) Maltese cross tick pin with small pearl to the centre. (iv) A South African Legion badge, with green enamel and lettering with a white enamel centre with springbok. (v) A larger SAAF No. 31 Bomber Squadron brooch, the bomb in a green enamel. Along with the same design including owl, dice and search beams. (vi) A South African Airforce 21 Bomber Squadron lapel pin badge, with green enamel; the design is worn; shows a bomb to the centre with roman numerals XXI to the right and a head of a Springbok to the left, with wings on each side. (vii) A South African Air Force SAAFA SALMV enamel lapel pin. With gold coloured bird with wings spread wide, over the letters SAAFA SALMV in red enamel beneath. (9)
