AN ANGLO INDIAN VIZAGAPATAM IVORY OVERLAID SANDALWOOD DOMED CASKET, 19TH CENTURY
With a rounded lid, fitted with pierced ivory scrollwork in floral and foliate motifs, bordered by elegant brass pins and geometric corner studs. The front and sides are adorned with medallion-style ivory cartouches enclosing miniature sepia-toned scenic views, likely European, under glass. Inside, the box is divided into compartments.
