A portrait of an army sergeant, signed bottom right G. Ilessuint and dated 1944, this painting has been painted on sacking stamped to the back 'Yugoslav. (Prisone)R. of War', possibly from the Red Cross, 56 by 46cm, framed and glazed to each side 65 by 55cm, together with a similar painting of a British Officer, signed Antonio Loniussio, 8/3 1944, Canosa. 48 by 33cm framed and glazed 52 by 39cm. (2) Provenance: from the private collection of a local collector, who was collating items for a museum.
