POSTAGE STAMPS USED AS POSTAGE DUES, 1920s COVERS, ETC: Group incl. 6 Nov. 1924 Thomas Cook env. ex Bombay to Kabul franked 1 anna with Afghan 10 paisa rose type II used as Postage Due cancelled with intaglio seal. Scarce usage. Also, large piece ex Berlin franked 17,000,000,000 dated 7 Nov. 1923 with 7 x 30 paisa green used as Postage Dues with intaglio seal cancelling and 1927 cover with 1925 20 paisa paying Postage Due on incoming cover from Peshawar. We note May 1924 env. to Berlin via India franked 20 paisa & 6 annas. Lot also includes a real photo PPC depicting Amanullah Khan & entourage in Karachi, 1929 returning from a European tour. (6 cards/covers plus large piece)
