AN IZNIK POTTERY TANKARD, OTTOMAN TURKEY, 17TH CENTURY
Of a cylindrical body with a bold, angular handle and decorated in turquoise, cobalt blue, green, and black under a clear glaze. The surface displays floral and saz leaf motifs framed by geometric bands, all set against a white ground. The tankard rests on an unglazed foot ring, with the base revealing the creamy ceramic body beneath the glaze.
