SMALL RANGE OF POSTAL STATIONERY & POSTAL HISTORY: A small box containing an eclectic range of items inc. 1902 Bermuda 1d post card addressed to "WIBURG [sic] REFUGEE KAMP" with a fine purple boxed "PRISONERS OF WAR/...PASSED CENSOR.../4/..BERMUDA.." hs adjacent to a Winburg cds; 1902 env. registered ex Winburg to Belle Vue Camp franked six 1d "Orange Vrij Staat" stamps ovptd "V.R.I./1d" all tied by Winburg cds's with a fine large red double circle "CENSOR/BELLE VUE/PRISONERS OF WAR" hs adjacent to a triangular "PASSED/PRESS/21./5./02./E.J.Cullen/CENSOR" hs on front and "WESTERN/20 MAY 02 JR/T.P.O.2" cds on back; 3 other envs. with Cape of Good Hope stamps (1) or Cape of Good Hope ovptd. "ORANGE RIVER COLONY" (2) addressed to the refugee camp in Winburg, 2 resealed "OPENED UNDER MARTIAL LAW" tape one of which also has a fine small red circular "CENSOR/BELLE VUE/PRISONERS OF WAR" hs; a card advertising a Rowntree Annual Sale (faults) ex Scarborough to Canterbury returned as recipient "Gone Away" with 18 p.due stamps totalling 14/7½d; plus a number of unused postal stationery cards & envs. from Orange River Colony or Ceylon, etc., and a few other miscellaneous items.
