A 19th century Indian hardwood (probably teak) chest: brass inlaid and bound; the hinged lid opening to reveal a compartmentalised interior with hinged carved lids; the central section lifting out as a tray and flanked by two full-width compartments also with hinged lids carved with flowerheads; the outer body profusely inlaid with brass stringing and stylised scrolling foliate designs; two brass swan-neck handles (52.5 cm wide x 35 cm deep x 34 cm high)
