A Pair of Charles Whymper Framed Chromolithograph Prints of Pheasants
A pair of antique chromolithograph ornithological prints after the original works by the British artist Charles Whymper (1853-1941). The first plate illustrates a male and female Common Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus). The second plate depicts a Ring-necked Pheasant (Phasianus torquatus) and a Japanese Pheasant (Phasianus versicolor). Both prints bear the printed signature C Whymper and include printed common and scientific names for the bird species. The prints are presented in matching gilt-finish frames.
