A pair of Japanese porcelain chargers, Meiji Period (1868-1912), each of circular form and polychrome painted with two quail amidst blossoming floral sprays, 31cm diameter (2)

Both chargers show pits and frits, glazing faults and surface wear throughout including rubbing to the decoration and to the gilt highlights. One charger shows a chip to the rim approximately 10mm wide, but no obvious cracks, crazing or evidence of restoration. The other shows no obvious chips, cracks, crazing or evidence of restoration.
